1、来华前的准备
1. Preparations before Coming to China
（1）申请签证 | Apply for a Visa
留学生需在所在国的中国使馆或领事馆申请来华签证。申请签证需要提供的文件包括您的有效普通护照、录取通知书、外国留学人员来华签证申请表（也称为JW201/JW202表）或短期来华留学生信息表（也称为DQ表）。在华学习时间超过180天（含180天）的学生，须持X1签证入境。在华学习期限在180天以下的学生，须持X2签证入境。如需了解您所在国家的中国使/领馆的信息，请参看我国外交部网站：http://www.fmprc.gov.cn/mfa_eng/wjb_663304/zwjg_665342/.
International students shall apply for a visa at the Chinese embassy or consulate in the host country. The documents required when applying for a visa include your valid regular passport, admission letter, Confirmation Form for Study in China (also known as the JW201/JW202 Form) or the Information Form for Foreign Students' Short-term Visit (also known as the DQ Form). Those who will study in China for more than 180 days (including 180 days) shall enter the country with an X1 visa. Those who will study in China for less than 180 days shall enter the country with an X2 visa. 请注意：X1签证的有效期限为30日。持X1签证者必须在入境后的30日内申请办理居留许可，才可以在中国合法停留。因此，学校建议同学们按照规定时间来华，因为只能在学校报到后才有资格申请办理居留许可。
Please note: The X1 visa is valid for 30 days. X1 visa holders must apply for residence permits within 30 days of entry to legally stay in China. Therefore, it is recommended that international students come to China at the prescribed time, because residence permits can only be applied for after registration at the university.
（2）收拾行李 | Pack Your Luggage
成都九月正值夏季末，气温平均27度左右，穿衣轻便防晒为主，也可少量携带冬衣。行李打包建议一切从简，学校周边有很多超市便利店，可以购买到你所需要的生活物品，可以从家里带一些随身用的毛巾、床单等物品，初到成都的时候可以使用。
September in Chengdu is at the end of summer, with the average temperature of 27 degrees. You can take some summer clothes, and can also carry a small amount of winter clothes. There are supermarkets and stores around the university. You can buy the life items you need, but you can still bring some portable towels and bed sheets from home, and you can use them when you arrive in Chengdu the first few days.

（2）办理住宿 | Accommodation
校内住宿：新生可选择住校，校内留学生宿舍会在注册日当天开始接受办理入住，学校根据具体情况安排住宿。但是学校宿舍房间数量有限，如果选择住在校内，需服从学校统一住宿安排和管理规定。
On-campus accommodation: Freshmen can choose to live in the university. The international students’ dormitory will be accepted on the registration date, and the university will arrange accommodation according to the actual conditions. However, the number of rooms in the school dormitory is limited. If you choose to live on campus, you should obey the unified accommodation arrangement of the school and management regulations.
校外住宿：留学生也可以根据自己的实际情况和需求，提前通过邮箱告知或在报到时提出校外住宿申请，并按照学校管理规定办理相关校外住宿登记手续。
Off-campus accommodation: you can also inform us in advance by email or apply for off-campus accommodation at the time of registration according to your actual situation and needs, and go through the relevant off-campus accommodation registration procedures in accordance with the school management regulations.
（3）外籍人员如何办理电话卡？ | How Foreigners Apply for Mobile Phone Cards in Chengdu?
2024年2月，全国首个机场全业务电信营业厅在成都天府国际机场启动试营业，为来华的外籍人员和国内旅客提供快捷、便利的电信服务。该营业厅位于成都天府国际机场T1国际出口旁，来华外籍人员及国内旅客可在此按需办理手机号卡，享受专属产品服务。针对来华外籍人员通讯业务需求，中国电信出台了7天、15天、30天套餐资费服务，长期居留外籍人员还可享受国内现有通讯业务套餐，方便外籍人员按需办理。
China's first full-service outlet of China Telecom operating at the airport, was put into service at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport in February 2024. The outlet, located next to the exit for international travelers at Terminal 1, provides travelers and foreigners coming to China easy access to quick and convenient service covering application for mobile phone cards and tailored products, including the 7-day, 15-day and 30-day packages, as well as those regular ones for permanent expat residents.
1）日常办理电话卡指南
1) Tips on daily phonecards application
办理中国大陆主要电信运营商的手机号卡，您需前往相应电信运营商的线下营业厅。办理手机号卡过程中需出示有效身份证件（如护照、永久居留证等）进行实名认证。
To apply for mobile phone cards by main telecommunication providers in the Chinese mainland, you need to visit the offline service outlets in person and show valid identity certificates (such as passports and residence permits) for real-name authentication.
可通过地图APP搜索附近营业厅→携带护照、永久居留证等→到营业厅的取号机取预约单号、排队等候→叫号后持护照、永久居留证等到窗口办理。可提前电话联系营业厅咨询办理事项。
Search on the map apps for the nearest service outlet → bring your passport or permanent resident card → get your appointment number from the machine and wait in line → complete the procedures at the counter. You can contact the outlets in advance to inquire about the procedure.

（4）注意事项 | Notes
1）报到手续需由学生本人亲自完成，不能委托他人代办。学生必须最晚于报到当日缴清学费、住宿费、购买保险等，否则报到手续无法正常完成。
2）学校暂不接受外国留学生提前报到，也不接受签证或者居留许可已经过期的外国留学生报到。因此，请仔细计划行程，以免由于过早来华使得签证在规定日期入学报到前过期，导致无法入学或者引发其它不必要的麻烦。
3）自费生应在来华前购买保险，可选择具有外籍来华人士综合医疗保险服务的保险公司购买，包括平安险、人身意外伤害医疗保险、住院医疗保险、残疾保险和身故保险等。
4）持X1签证的学生报到后申请居留许可，需要大约一个月的时间才能完成手续取得护照；持有X2签证的学生在入学报到后如需要增加入境次数，需要大约三周时间才能取回护照。在此期间将无法在成都以外的地区旅行，需要提前做好相应准备。
5）因故不能按期入学的新生，应当事先向国际学生科办公室发送邮件请假，并附相关证明，经批准后方为有效。请假期限原则上不得超过2周。未请假或者请假逾期者，除因不可抗力等特殊事由以外，视为放弃入学资格。
6）现金准备。来校注册后，申请居留许可后约一个月才能办理银行卡，请先携带足够现金用于在华生活及其他费用。
1) The registration procedures shall be completed by the students themselves and shall not be done by others. Students must pay the tuition fee, and accommodation fee, and purchase insurance, etc., by the latest day of registration, otherwise the registration procedure cannot be completed normally.
2) International students cannot register in advance, nor can international students whose visa or residence permit has expired register. Therefore, please plan your trip carefully so that your visa will not expire before the registration date due to coming to China too early, resulting in failure of registration or other unnecessary troubles.
3) Insurance shall be purchased before coming to China for Self-funded students. You can choose an insurance company with comprehensive medical insurance services for foreign nationals in China, including fee of particular average (FPA insurance), personal accident medical insurance, hospitalization medical insurance, disability insurance and life insurance.
4) Students with X1 visa shall apply for residence permits after registration, and it will take about one month to complete the formalities and retrieve their passport; for students with an X2 visa who need to increase their times of visits after registration, it will take approximately three weeks to retrieve their passport. Thus, traveling outside Chengdu during this period shall not be permitted. Please plan accordingly in advance.
5) New international students who cannot check in for registration within the specified time period for some reason should send an email to the Office of International Students in advance, with relevant certifications attached, for permission to delay the registration. Such a delay shall not be deemed as valid until the approval is granted to the applicant. The time limit of such absence cannot exceed 2 weeks. Failure to ask for the permission or to get registered after the permitted time of absence expires for those who do have obtained the permission shall be deemed as giving up the admission eligibility unless the failure is caused by force majeure.
6) You can only apply for your bank card when you get your residence permit after registration, which needs about 1 month. Please bring enough cash for living and other expenses in China.

学校共有28栋学生公寓，分为芙蓉园片区、香樟园片区、珙桐园片区、银杏园片区、榕树园片区、松林园片区六大片区。根据学校统一安排，国际学生主要入住香樟园和银杏园。学校楼寓服务中心主要负责学生公寓内的安全防范、卫生保洁、维修保障、洗涤服务、水电管理工作，以及做好学生住宿安排和学生外住申请、退学、休学、离校手续的咨询办理等服务工作。
There are total of 28 student dormitories in CDUT, which are divided into six major areas: Furongyuan, Xiangzhangyuan, Gongtongyuan, Yinxingyuan, Rongshuyuan, and Songlinyuan. According to the unified arrangement of the school, international students mainly live in Xiangzhangyuan and Yinxingyuan. The dormitory service center of the school is mainly responsible for the safety precautions, sanitation and cleaning, maintenance guarantee, washing services, water and electricity management in the student apartment, as well as the consultation and handling of student accommodation arrangements and student accommodation applications, withdrawal, suspension, and departure procedures.

Location advantage: Xiangzhang Garden is located in the east area of the school, in the center of the school's transportation hub, close to the east district teaching building, the east district library, and the camphor playground. Adjacent to the Polytechnic East Garden, there is a sea of flowers nearby for walking.
银杏园区（男生）

Location advantage: close to the West District Stadium, water library and Liujiao, which is convenient for everyone's daily exercise and classes. 所有国际学生均可申请居住学生公寓。自费学生报到注册时需一次性付清本学年住宿费并按照《成都理工大学留学生宿舍管理规定》办理入住手续。在公寓住宿的，要自己承担热水费、电费。另外，入住学生公寓须知：
All international students can apply for living in student dormitories. Upon registration, Self-financed students must pay the accommodation fee for the academic year in one lump sum and check in according to Regulations on Dormitory Management for International Students in CDUT. All international students living in student dormitories have to pay for hot water and electricity. Instructions for living in student dormitory:
（1）学生公寓门禁管理：早上6:30开宿舍灯，开园区大门；晚上23:00（周日一周四）、23:30（周五、周六）、24:00（节假日）关园区大门和熄灯；对晚归的同学进行《晚归登记》并定期报送国际教育学院处理。
(1) Access control of student dormitory: Turn on the dormitory light and open the dormitory gate at 6:30 a.m. Turn off the dormitory light and close the dormitory gate at 23:00 p.m. (Sunday-Thursday), 23:30 p.m. (Friday, Saturday), 24:00 p.m. (holidays); Complete the Late Return Registration for students who return late and submit it to the college of International Education regularly.
（2）用电、购电：本着节约用电原则，学生寝室实行限额用电管理，采用“免费基数：4度（本科）+5度（研究生）/月/每人+先购超额电（超额电费先充值），再使用的方式”。
(2) Electricity use and purchase: In line with the principle of saving electricity, the student dormitory implements the quota electricity management, using the "free base: 4 kWh (undergraduate) + 5 kWh (graduate)/month/person + purchase excess electricity first (charge first for excess electricity), and then use".
学生公寓照明和空调欠费断电后，由学生按照校园一卡通在线购电流程自助缴费。
After the power failure of lighting and air conditioning of student dormitory due to electricity arrears, students shall pay the fees by themselves according to the online electricity purchase process of the campus card.
温馨提示：寝室内严禁使用大功率电器和各类违章电器。
Tips: High-power electrical appliances and all kinds of illegal electrical appliances are strictly prohibited in the dormitory.
（3）学生公寓生活设施报修：学生公寓设施若有损坏，请关注微信公众号“成理智慧后勤”进行网上报修，报修后学校将尽快安排修理。
(3) Request for repair of living facilities in student dormitory: In case of any damage of living facilities in student dormitory, please follow the WeChat official account "CDUT Intelligent Logistics" for online request for repair. CDUT will arrange repair as soon as possible after the receiving the request for repair.
（4）学生公寓内洗衣服务：学生公寓园区或公寓内设有自助洗衣房，提供自助洗衣服务。（具体操作流程见洗衣房内张贴的智慧洗衣使用流程）
(4) Laundry service in student dormitory: There is a laundromat in the student dormitory park or dormitory, providing self-service laundry service. (See the intelligent laundry use process posted in the laundry room for the specific operation process)
（5）开水、热水供应：各学生公寓均提供有偿开水及热水服务，按流量计费。供应时间：详见各学生公寓公示时间。
(5) Boiled water and hot water supply: Each student dormitory provides paid boiled water and hot water service, which is charged according to the flow rate. Available time: Please refer to the announcement time of each student dormitory.
2）校外住宿
2) Off-campus housing
留学生也可以申请校外住宿，但需遵守以下相关规定。
International students can also apply for off-campus housing, but shall comply with the following regulations.
（1）选择校外住宿的留学生，需要向国际教育学院国际学生科办公室申请校外居住，获得批准以后方可校外租房。
(1) International students who choose off-campus housing need to apply to international students office of the College of International Education for off-campus housing, and can make off-campus housing only after being approved.
（2）如果你选择租住民房，必须在入住24小时之内和房东一起到房子所属的派出所进行登记。登记时你应该携带护照，请提醒房东携带他的户口本和房产证。登记后，你将得到派出所出具的《住宿登记表》。这张登记表是你在中国合法居住的证明，一定要妥善保管。不办理登记手续或不及时更新《住宿登记表》将被视为非法居留，会被处以罚款，甚至驱逐出境。
(2) If you choose to rent a private house, you must register with the owner at the police station where the house belongs within 24 hours of check-in. You should bring your passport with you when registering. Please remind the owner to bring his household register and property ownership certificate. After registration, you will get the Accommodation Registration Form issued by the police station. This registration form is the proof of your legal residence in China. Be sure to keep it properly. Failure to register or to update the Accommodation Registration Form in a timely manner will be deemed illegal residence, and may result in a fine or even deportation.
（3）从留学生公寓搬到校外住宿的同学，须持《住宿登记表》到国际学生科办公室办理退宿手续。
(3) Students who move from the international student dormitory to off-campus housing must check out at international students office with the Accommodation Registration Form.

（1）住在校外的同学，必须及时向国际教育学院国际学生科办公室提交你的租房合同（复印件）、房东联系方式、辖区派出所注册证明。
(1) Students living off campus must timely submit the tenancy agreement (copy), contact information of the landlord, and registration certificate of the local police station to international students office of the College of International Education.
（2）如住址和电话变更时，须及时告知国际教育学院国际学生科办公室。

（3）运动健身 | Sports and Fitness
我校现有运动场馆10万余平方米。有综合体育馆1座，固定座位1200人，使用面积3000余平方米(内设标准篮球场1个、专业羽毛球场12片、乒乓球桌20台)，网球场12片(含风雨球场4片)，标准游泳池2个和练习池1个，田径场2个(内设2个人工草皮标准足球场)，塑胶篮球场25片，排球场10片，乒乓球台若干，5人制足球场2个，攀岩壁1座，综合拓展场地1个(含高空拓展)，小型体操房2个。室外的运动场除教学使用时间外全部免费对同学们开放。网球、羽毛球、乒乓球、东区足球场和五人制足球场除教学时间段外成本补偿性向大家开放。
Currently, there are over 100,000m2 sports venues. There is a sports complex with 1,200 fixed seats and covering an area of over 3,000m2 (including 1 standard basketball court, 12 professional badminton courts and 20 table-tennis tables), 12 tennis courts (including 4 weather-proof rain courts), 2 standard swimming pools and 1 practice pool, 2 ground track fields (including 2 artificial turf standard football courts), 25 plastic basketball courts, 10 volleyball courts, several table-tennis tables, 2 five-a-side football courts, 1 rock-climbing wall, 1 comprehensive expansion venue (including high-altitude outward development) and 2 small gyms. The outdoor sports field is open to students for free, except for teaching hours. Tennis, badminton, table tennis, Dongqu football and five-player football fields are open to everyone with cost compensation except for teaching hours.
（4）校园交通 | Campus transportation
电动校车早上7:00发车，晚上22:00（周一至周四、周日），23:30（周五—周六）收车。另外校园内有共享单车可以扫码付费使用。
Electric campus buses are ready from 7:00 a.m. to 23:00 p.m. (Monday to Thursday, Sunday) and to 23:30 p.m. (Friday to Saturday). In addition, shared bicycles can be used by scanning QR codes for payment on campus.
（5）医疗保健 | Healthcare
建议所有同学从本国携带自己常用药品来华，因为有些药品可能在中国比较难找到。
We suggest all students to bring their commonly used drugs from their home countries to China, for some drugs may be difficult to find in China.

温馨提示：在中国看病要先到医院的挂号处挂号，紧急的情况下可以挂“急诊”号。身体不舒服或者其他需求请及时向身边同学、老师、宿管人员求助。情况危急时，请拨打120急救电话。
